Written by Tombfyre, on July 11, 2001. This took me a whole 2 hours to write, and its basically a dream I had last night. I thought it was cool, so I made it look better, and wrote it up. Enjoy!

Along came a dwaggie.

Thud! “Ow…. What happened? Where am I? I’m scared….” The creature began to whimper and gibber as it looked around the dimly lit area it had fell into. The creature is no ordinary creature, but a baby dragon who’s lost its way, and fallen into this hole. But, this hole has more to it than meets the eye. “I wanna leave, but I can’t fly yet! I guess I’m gonna have to find a door.” The little blue dragon, who’s name is Beryl stands up, and wobbles around in the darkness. “Oh, I can’t see anything! Why is it so dark!” It looks as it our hero is about to cry his ass off, but something catches his eye. “What’s that? Looks shine, I like shine’s!” The hatchling stumbles over to the source of his attention, only to run muzzle first into a shelf. “Meep! Ow, I banged my nose…. Oh, this sucks.” After a few seconds of blubbering, sienor braveness resumes his search for the object he was looking at. Eventually, Beryl reached up to the thing on the shelf, and hauled it down to his level. It turned out to be a flask full of some glowing red liquid. There were markings on it, but the dragon could not read them. He spotted a table close by, and decided to jump up there, and determine what to do next. On top of the table, there were books, flasks, vials, papers, and some food items. Beryl rubbed his paws together in the prospects of potential treasure. The vials and flasks were empty though. Dismay was beginning to work its way into the little hatchlings mind as he remembered the books, and the food. The food was fresh, but he was not hungry, so he set it aside for later. The books on the other hand, turned out to be spell books, and what looked like an inventory book. The spell book proved useless, as the dragon could not break the seals. But the inventory book told the dragon that not only was this cave a wizards lab, but what potions, and other prepared magical items were stored here. “Wow! Maybe I can use some of these things!” Beryl began to read through the items listed with haste, but only one was of interest. The red potion he had already pilfered. It was a potion of growth, and it interested the hatchling to no end. “Oh boy! With this, my older brothers can’t pick on me anymore!” Beryl closed the book without reading further. If he had, he may have noticed that there was a recommended dosage of the potion, and it was known to cause random side effects. But our bold hatchie was too fascinated with the idea of being larger, to care. After securing his prized bottle, Beryl quickly explored around for an exit, found one, and escaped into the day.

Once widdle hatchie found his way to the surface, he began to un-cork his new toy. “This should make me big! I wonder how much I should take?” The debate over the amount he should consume lasted about as long as it took to uncork the bottle, and upend the entire thing. “BUUURRRPPP! Tasted like strawberries!” The contented little dragon sat there, looking all cute and huggable on his haunches, waiting for something to happen. After a bit of waiting, the first signs of change began. A pleasing warmth flooded through the dracling, and before he knew what was happening, he had doubled in size. He was about the size of a large dog now, and he sat purring to himself. “This is nice, but I wanted to be bigger! Oh well, you can’t win them all.” Beryl was just starting to walk back home, when the warmth returned. This time however, he did not grow like he was expecting. A subtle paunch was beginning to form on him, and it was rapidly swelling outwards. “MEEP! I don’t want to be a fat dragon! I wanted to be a big dragon!” The whimpering hatchling continued to bloat outwards, till his gut was touching the ground. “Oh, how am I going to explain this to mammadar? She’ll never believe me….” Finally the bloating stopped, and our bloated hero began the long trek home, dragging his gut as he walked. About 15mins into his journey, the warmth returned, and Beryl cringed at the idea of getting any wider. This time however, he got what he wanted. “Oh yah! I’m growing again!” The happy hatchie rose off the ground as he gained size, and his gut disappeared. Now about the size of a horse, Beryl ran towards his home with a smile on his face. “I hope there’s no other surprises…. I like being a big dwaggie!”

His journey home was uneventful, ‘till he stopped for a rest. As he laid down for a quick snooze, he heard a odd hissing sound coming from somewhere close. “Where’s that hissing coming from?” As he was looking around for a snake or something, a tightness was emerging in his torso. “What’s happening?” Beryl cried, as he looked down, and watched himself inflate like a balloon. A slight stretching sound was plainly heard as the dragon bloated out, and eventually became a sphere, with paws, tail, and a head. “Oh great, now what am I gonna do!” The confuzzled inflate-a-dragon wobbled from side to side in the faint breeze trying to figure out what to do with himself. He was immobile, and a very big target now. Just as panic was advancing on the dragon, the warmth returned again. “Uh, oh…. Its happening again! MEEP!” Beryl closed his eyes in fear as his body began to expand again. The huge paunch vanished, and his body began to enlarge rapidly. 30ft, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80ft… it was not stopping any time soon! He opened his eyes as he noticed the pressure was gone, and meep’d like he’d never meep’d before. “Wow! I…. I’m huge! No way anyone’s gonna be mean to me now! Unless the adults want to punish me for anything…. I wanna be bigger! The biggest!” Beryl almost went into a fit of desire for more size when the warmth returned yet again. He embraced his body as he doubled in size, and then doubled again. Our once tiny adventurer was rapidly filling out. He was borderline 400ft in length, when the warmth faded, and the growth stopped. “Yay! I’m even bigger than mammadar now! Nobody can touch me!” With renewed vigor, the hatchling…. Well, not hatchling anymore…. The huge dragon bounded off home.

His brothers shat themselves as he ran into the forest, and his parents passed out from shock. A few hours later, when his parents had regained consciousness, and his brothers had gained control of there bowels, Beryl explained what had happened to him. His parents almost lost it again as they though of how big he was going to get when he grew up, and his brothers fainted dead away. “Don’t worry mammadar, dadahdar, I can take care of myself now! And I like being big! In fact, I want to be even bigger!” “No son, you can’t get any bigger! How will you feed yourself? There’s not enough food in the forest for you!” His mammadar exclaimed. “Well, now that you mentioned food, I’m strangely not hungry. Maybe that potion had more side effects than I thought.” Beryl was right, the potion had somehow given him the ability to just absorb the energy floating around the universe, and use that for food. Beryl was just getting up to find a more comphie spot to rest, when the warmth returned a fifth time. “Stand back family! I think I’m going to grow again!” His siblings, and parents ran for cover as there youngest son began to enlarge, and swell up again. Beryl increased in size and mass, and his paunch returned. In fact, he got incredibly fat. Though for a dragon his size, it did not show much. He received a nice round belly, and about 10 times his old height and length. “Holy shit! I’m gigantic! And I’m fat again! MEEP!” After settling down, Beryl discovered that his belly was not so bad. It was after all, more insulation. He was over 4000ft in length, and could probably wear a football stadium as a shoe. “Umm, family? I think I should leave this place before I get any bigger. I think I’m going to fly into space, and live up there. You told me more than once that that’s where all the big dragons went!”

Before his parents could protest, our loveable, chubby, and super huge dragon was doing his best to fly off planet. Eventually, he reached orbit, and just floated there. Somehow, he was not needing to breathe, but he was not thinking of that. What Beryl was thinking of, was just how big he was going to get. Just about then, the warmth returned, and Beryl gasped as the planet he was looking at rapidly shrank. He lost track of how large he was, but the planet he was orbiting, was now orbiting him. In fact, the whole damn solar system seemed to be moving along behind him. “Man, I think I over did the potion just a bit. Oh well, I guess I should go exploring.”

Over the next few years, space became our hero’s home. He grew larger and larger by the day, and eventually was larger than a galaxy. Nothing could challenge his superiority, and nothing tried. In fact almost nobody even noticed that there was a dragon drifting outside of there galaxy. One day though, Beryl came across a large black hole, out in the middle of nowhere. Its gravity proved to much even for his massiveness, and he was quickly sucked into it.

He awoke in a dimly lit cavern, and quickly rubbed his sore backside. He musta fallen in through that hole in the ceiling. The cavern was a maze of shelves, and tables, and shiny objects. Beryl had a sneaking suspicion that he’d been here before, but he quickly shrugged it off as he picked up a nice shiny red bottle of the nearest shelf. “Its going to be an interesting day methinks.”

-I know I cut it off, but its meant to be a cliffhanger!
