No
tale of the Wild West is complete without a cowboy. Nor is a cowboy
complete without his trusty four-legged companion. Carlos combines both
aspects to epitomise the West in his own form. A gun-slinging stallion
not to be messed with, Carlos commands a lot of respect, and with his
muscular body, he also gains a lot of admirers. Woe betide any small
critter who thinks they can settle around the ranch however; such li'l
varmints are generally greeted with a swift stomping before they can
scarper. Be it at the barrel of a gun or the sole of a hoof,
there
are plenty who have gotten on the wrong side of this horse and not
survived to tell the tale.
Carlos
is my latest creation, first appearing in mid-2007 after I had already
joined the fandom. I used to be rather uncomfortable with the idea of
anthrohorses - generally I had been of the belief that any animal
without toes made a somewhat awkward-looking biped, but having seen it
done by other artists, the idea grew on me. Though his physical form is
fairly simple, the cowboy idea developed out of a general assocation
with the West and a personal desire to see such a character adopting
this exciting persona Since first designing him, I have drawn
Carlos on numerous occasions both in a macrophilic and yiffy context,
and I feel he can be pretty darn good in both.
