Some horses are born to be ridden. And then there are others that were born to ride.

Spending almost his entire life on the plains, Carlos is rarely in town for long before he has moved on. A mysterious and secretive figure, most know nothing about him beyond his name, while those who have encountered him in person have found him a quiet, solitary figure, rarely uttering a word.

Yet there is nothing shy about Carlos. An experienced cowboy with an imposing frame and fabled precision with a firearm which he is almost never seen without, he has no trouble dealing with confrontation. Those who set out to test or provoke him are often dealt with swiftly, and few ever survive to tell the tale.

The word to the wise is quite simple. Treat him with respect - or better yet, keep your distance.

Compared with most of my characters, Carlos is still a relatively new member of my collection. Having initially been uncomfortable with the concept of anthropomorphic horses due to the general clumsiness of combining humanoid legs with hooves, it was not until I joined the fandom in 2007 that I discovered some effective implementations of that design - and consequently found some appeal in the idea.

Since his debut incarnation, Carlos has only undergone minor changes, primarily to his traditional 'Wild West' cowboy costume. For the most part, he exists within his own 'universe', but he has sometimes featured with other characters of mine that I consider appropriate for the scenario in question.
