Horses may be considered noble creatures, but Marco has never been known to show any befitting sense of decorum.

Born wild on the plains, Marco was always too unruly and free-spirited to fit in with the herd. Driven out into insolation, he was left alone in the wilderness, where a lack of contact with other mustangs and his intense bitterness over being cast out were said to have driven him insane.

Many people have made attempts to catch and tame him, unaware of his past. Some have even succeeded in restraining him and bringing him to an apparent state of near peace. Yet owing to his wild upbringing and emotional instability, it has never lasted, his unpredictable temperament ultimately leading him to lash out and break free once more - alas, it is the only life he has ever really known.

Now, half-deranged and addicted to violence, he roams the plains looking for any creature upon which to unleash his brutality. And most alarmingly of all, he really seems to enjoy it.

As one of only three 'feral' characters in my collection, Marco has often served to satisfy my interest in fantasies within a more natural, wild setting. Borne out of such a fantasy in around 2005, most scenarios in which I have depicted him over the years involve him attacking small animals. However, I have also occasionally utilised him in images featuring my other characters.

In terms of design, Marco has no truly distinctive features. Physically, he is a generic horse design with chestnut and white colouring. But it is his attitude and the concept of his history which make him a useful and interesting character for me to exploit within my artwork.
