He may like to look tough, but at heart, Rocky is still just a big kid.

Blessed with good looks and an athletic build, Rocky is a narcissistic showoff who loves being the centre of attention, and he often is. The quintessential jock in his adolescence, he has always been deeply driven by competition among his peers, complemented by copious levels of testosterone. Much like the dominant male in a wild pack, Rocky takes pleasure in exhibiting his physical strength and brash masculinity, particularly if it serves to belittle other males around him - especially Mike.

But for all his imposing display, Rocky is actually relatively harmless. A serial prankster and practical joker, his intentions are rarely malicious but merely mischievous. His immature, playful streak is the 'endearing' quality which attracted his girlfriend, Cassie, even if it often puts others on edge.

Not that Rocky cares if people don't trust him. After all, he likes to keep everyone on their toes.

Rocky has been appearing in my artwork since around 2004, originally serving as a canine equivalent to Rexar but quickly gaining his own distinct 'boyish' personality. I consider Rocky to be primarily heterosexual, yet sometimes there is a suggestion of some suppressed bisexual tendencies for which his overt masculinity is something of a cover.

The relationship between Rocky, Cassie and Mike has been developing for some time, yet for the purposes of flexibility of scenario, their history is rarely static. In any given instance however, I have generally considered the three of them to exist within a self-contained canine universe in which they have all previously attended high school together. As such, Rocky has very rarely appeared with any of the rest of my characters.
