Unlike
some of his counterparts, evolution left Tydo behind. Despite being a
member of one of the most feared theropod families in natural history,
Tydo is perhaps one of the most harmless raptors you could ever hope to
meet. Sadly it is this fatal character flaw that causes him to allow
just about anybody to do whatever they please with him. This is
particularly the case with Rexar, his main dominant master, who
frequently forces the tiny raptor to reluctantly engage with his feet.
Simply by nature of his size and personality however, Tydo suffers
similar treatment from pretty much everyone. Remarkably however, and as
can only be possible in the realm of fantasy, Tydo seems to re-emerge
for repeated punishment no matter how damaging the treatment from his
previous experiences. What results is a perpetually victimised
personality whose existence has always and shall forever be dictated by
his superiors; the epitomy of a submissive.
If
you have a dominant character, then you also must have a complementary
submissive; due to my own objections towards involving humans in my
artwork and my personal preferences for supposedly 'natural'
relationships, I felt it was appropriate for Rexar to be accompanied by
his Cretaceous contemporary Tydo. The raptor himself is a simple design
first appearing in around 2003, and remaining pretty much altered since
then with the exception of a few anatomical corrections. Though his
size has varied, he has almost always been smaller than everyone else
around him, from slight reductions in similar orders of magnitude to
the smallest speck pressed into the sole of his master's foot.
